X-MEN FACE GIANTS FOR A SUDDEN DEATH DECIDING GAME
Your BVB X-Men did not finish the regular season with the “hoot and holler” that was hoped for when game plans were drawn up in early spring but, the “Men in Black” get to fight for more baseball still. The BVB has provided opportunity to the 9th and 10th place teams to battle it out in a one game decider to be granted more baseball in the fall. The winner of this match will be given the opportunity to represent BVB in the 35+ Vintage “Late Season Classic” in Oakville, Ontario. This tournament is a great display of Vintage baseball from all over Ontario and a great chance to get some extra baseball in before the cleats are hung up for the year. With a minimum schedule of three games, it will be a great way to close out the year.
The BVB single game decider game has been scheduled for Sunday September 13th, 7:00pm at Ireland ‘D’. Come out and support the X-Men and the great league it represents.
X-Men look to be the “Spoiler”
The X-Men have struggled with a winning pattern through the 2009 season. A number of games displayed that the men in black have the stuff to win but, they have not been able to seal the deal in most cases. With a current record of 1 and 17, the team looks to finish the next two games in 10th position within the league. With the next two games against the 8th place Cubs and 9th place Giants, the X-Men could “help or hurt” either team as they work to hold onto the final (8th) spot in the BVB play-off format.
Holding their heads high, the X-Men will begin work to build for the 2010 season as soon as the bats are put away so they can make a stronger push in the BVB Standings come the spring.
X-Men off to a rought start…
Unfortunately, the X-Men haven't started the season the way they hoped to. The X-Men have stumbled out of the gate with 4 consecutive losses and look to snap that losing streak when they next face the Brewers.
